Episode 10 is all about It’s Poppin! Gourmet Kettle Korn with Janelle Doyle.
Introduced to the United States in the 18th century, Kettle Korn is a family favorite in America. Referenced in the diaries of Dutch settlers in Pennsylvania around 1776. It’s a tradition to buy Kettle Korn at fairs and festivals. The corn, oil, sugar, and salt cooked together in a cast-iron kettle. This combination produces sweet crust on the popcorn. The delicious snack disappeared for a while but made a comeback in the early 21st century.
 
Fast forward to today and Episode 10 introduces us to Janelle Doyle and Executive Chef Desmen Milligan aka the “Flavor Creator.” They are the owners of It’s Poppin! Gourmet Kettle KornTheir specialty Kettle Korn flavors are unlike all other flavor combinations.
 
Both Janelle and Desmen are entrepreneurs at heart. Originally thinking about a food truck. But, when an article about Kettle Korn scrolled across Janelle’s Facebook timeline, it was definitely a sign. In February 2017 It’s Poppin! Gourmet Kettle Korn was born.
